Tactical Fundraising is a fundraising training company. We help inexperienced or struggling fundraisers learn the full range of tools available to fundraisers.
Tactical Fundraising drills down to the nuts and bolts of fundraising. There isn’t a lot of time spent on the psychological or philosophical or spiritual side of fundraising – fascinating as those topics might be. We just focus on what you can and should do, immediately, to build a powerful fundraising program for your organization.

Tactical Fundraising is the brainchild of
Matthew Bregman, who concurrently serves as Director of Development at El Museo del Barrio. Matt has been a professional nonprofit fundraiser for nearly 20 years, having held senior positions with the New York Public Interest Research Group; The Lighthouse, Inc.; Brooklyn Academy of Music; Museum of the Moving Image and the BAM Local Development Corporation.
A proud member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Matt is a frequent seminar leader with the Support Center for Nonprofit Management, and has appeared on panels at Fundraising Day in New York, OEG New Jersey Fundraising Conference and many others.

After 30 years raising money, I know a good fundraiser when I see one. I’d recommend Matt Bregman enthusiastically to anyone who wants to get down to the real business of raising money.
Karen Brooks Hopkins
President, Brooklyn Academy of Music
I had the opportunity to work with Matt closely while I was in charge of overseeing major arts sponsorships at Altria Group. As one of the lead corporate funders of the arts in New York and nationally, we received hundreds of requests each year and our funding process was quite competitive. I was amazed by how many proposals we received that lacked focus and did not clearly articulate the project for which they were requesting funding. Matt is someone who knew how to get it right. His proposals are always strategic and on target. He has a clear and in depth sense of what appeals to corporate funders. If you want to succeed with corporate philanthropy, take a lesson from him.

Matt Bregman is a smart, accomplished development professional. And he’s funny too. If you want to learn fundraising, spend some time with him.
Reynold Levy, President
Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts
I've gotten to know Matt Bregman in his capacity as a fundraiser at a number of different organizations. While the requests have varied, his high level of professionalism has remained constant. He understands the process of working with foundations thoroughly -- and I would encourage novice grant seekers to follow his example.
